An adorable Bible written in the International Children’s Bible® translation, it is perfect for any little girl, most appropriate for ages 5-12.  Written in a transation that is easier for children to understand, this Bible offers an added draw to young girls with its fabric covered front in bright cloth with floral print.  Embelished with sequined flowers and hearts that stand out from the rest of the cover, this is sure to be a hit with the little girl in your life.

Enclosed in a sturdy bible box to keep the cover nice, it is easy to wrap up and give as a gift.  Within the bible are dedication pages among other little extras.

While adorable in cover, it is still a paper/cardboard cover and prone to bending fairly easily.  It may not hold up in the long run with sequined embelishments at risk of falling off.  Even so, it is still a very nice bible and one that will likely create discussion between your little girl and those around who admire her new Bible.

An impressive Bible geared toward learning readers, The Beginning Reader's Bible is full of great stories, biblical lessons, resources, memory verses, prayers and so much more.  A hard covered book with heavy duty pages, brightly colored and full of interesting pictures, characters and creatures.  Stories from both the Old and New Testament, some of which include "The Very First Sin", "David and the Great Big Giant", "Jesus is Born" and "The Cross, among many others.  

Each story is titled and references where the selection was taken from in the bible.  Text is taken from the International Children's Bible^®, so they are reading actual bible text.Verses are marked for children to learn and become familiar with how bibles are laid out.  Stories take about 6-8 pages, each with words on only about half of one page and the other half and opposite page are open for viewing the picture.  Prompt boxes are on opposing pages in a small green box, offering children ways to "Remember God's Word", "Do God's Word" and "Pray God's Word" for each story.  

Illustrations are beautiful, engaging and full of life and opportunity to explore.  Illustrations for stories such as "The Cross" are not at all frightening, avoiding images that would be upsetting to a child without taking away from the reality of the story.  There are so many opportunities for teaching within this bible, I am so impressed with the layout, ease of understanding of wording, pictures and extras.  A definite on my list of recommended Bibles for children.

The Best Bible Subject Index Ever

The most recent Biblical Index published by Thomas Nelson is a handy little resource for all students of the Bible, from novice to knowledgeable.  It is arranged alphabetically, giving reference to the book, chapter and verse for each topic.  The index provides two sources of information: the scriptural material needed for your study and an outline in the order it appears in the Bible within each topic heading.  A nice small size, it is easy to tuck into a book bag and take along.  User friendly, this book is not intimidating as some other Biblical reference texts can be.  Able to be used with any Bible translation, you get a combined concordance Biblical dictionary and topical Bible all in one little book with more than 80,000 topics and 300 word studies.

For those who will use this book regularly, it would be much better in hard cover format as the cover can be easily bent, made of fairly thin paper.  That aside, a welcome addition to any library, making the study and understanding of the Bible all the easier.
