LED Night Light

With little people in my house, a nightlight is a necessity.  I have used the kind with replaceable bulbs that get turned on and off, but never found that as convenient as the idea of a self-regulating light.  I decided to purchase these LED night lights by Lunara and give them a shot.

 The lights come two to a pack, and are packaged in a thick plastic case that needs to be cut away.

 Inside are two lights that plug into outlets.

A photo sensor on the bottom of the light signals when to illuminate.

 When lit, these lights give off a soft yellow glow.  Bright enough to see, but not overpowering, blinding or disruptive.

We have placed one of these in our children's room and another leading up the stairway for easier night travel.  For those who are sensitive to lights in the room, this light will bother you.  It is best in a passageway or outside in a room that does not directly connect to the sleeping area.  Though it is not bright, it is still a constant light that stays on from dusk until dawn.

So far, I am impressed with these little lights.  They have eased bedtime troubles for my little ones and illuminate stairs that can be dangerous in the dark.  Easy to use, easy to maintain, there is no reason not to give these lights a shot for yourself.

BYB LED Flashlight Review

A good, reliable flashlight is important for me to have on hand.  I especially like to have them available in my vehicle in addition to my home.  I used to carry around those big bulky  three D-cell battery requiring flashlights, but the batteries never last or corrode long before I even use the light enough.  Enter the new era and the CREE LED flashlight.  I found this one and grabbed it up for the intent of keeping it in my van to replace my old, no-longer functioning bulky light.

This light come with a re-chargeable battery included as well as a wall charger, so no more buying and tossing batteries regularly.

The battery is easily accessed by twisting off the back of the light, exposing the Li-ion battery which easily slides out.

The battery fits easily into the charger by simply pressing the back end into one side and sliding it down until the top snaps in place.

Once the battery is installed in the charger, simply plug in and walk away.  The charger notifies the user it is working with a red LED light.

The flashlight itself is bright, with 5 light settings: high, medium, low, strobe and SOS.  Each setting is switched to by pressing the back button once, cycling through the settings to get to the one desired.

The flashlights case is a lightweight aluminum, the on/off button is a rubber press button located on the end of the flashlight.

This light is compact, easily fitting into my hand.  The light is easy to use, tucks neatly inside my vehicle for quick use if needed and is handy to have around.

Fnova Class 2 Reflective Vest and Armband Safety Gear

I have a safety vest I wear for my crossing guard duty, but it is a velcro closure that is quickly fraying and rarely stays secured after only a few months of use.  When I saw this vest, I knew I would like it because of the zipper option instead of velcro.  

This safety vest comes simply packaged, ready to go straight from the package.  ANSI and ISEA approved, it is ready for most jobs.

 It also included two reflective elastic armbands for added visibility.

 The arm bands are stretchy enough to slide onto my arm, even over my winter coat, without the need to un-fasten them. But, if it is desired, they simply velcro together and can be adjusted easily.

 The vests come sized.  I chose a medium.  I was a little nervous to get the small size because I know that most often I wear it over a coat of some type, but other reviews and measurements from the seller led me to believe it would be just fine.  It is.  I have plenty of room in this vest to wear it with my winter coat, but I do not swim in it if I am only wearing a t-shirt.

 The vest zips closed easily and quickly.  All ends are secured and of high quality.  The vest is trimmed in a black mesh to keep the vest material from fraying.  An added bonus is that the vest is washable.

 Stripes on the vest, which go around the torso at two different heights as well as over the shoulders, are very reflective and and visibility in addition to the super bright yellow.

I am very pleased with this vest, much more so than my velcro closure vest.  It fits well, is breathable, highly visible, lightweight and convenient to use.

 I have plenty of room to play around with for varied seasons and am glad I chose to stick with measurement indications instead of playing it safe and going up a size.

TV and Furniture Anti-Tip Straps Review

I purchased some new TV straps because I have always been afraid that one day my little ones are going to knock over our big screen TV on themselves and get injured. When I got them in the mail, please see that they were very simply packaged with very little extra stuff to deal with. 

Installation was a snap! The two straps simply screwed in-place to the back of the TV with included bolts. From there, one simply attaches the bottom half of the strap to the TV stand with also included screws. Straps are adjustable fort. Heights televisions which was very nice as well. Now that they are a catch, I feel very secure that my TV will not tip forward. We have even tested this a little bit by gauging on the TV gently and it is not going anywhere. I am very pleased with this product and will be recommending it to my friends with children.

Reflective Running Vest Review

I recently acquired this new reflective running vest and reflective arm band combo in my search for safety gear that will get me noticed.  Though I am not a runner, I am active in the view of traffic regularly as a crossing guard for employment and walking for enjoyment.    The more I stand out, the better!

I was able to choose the size I desired for this set, and I went with a medium planning to wear it over my coat when weather is cold.  It comes packaged in a plastic bag, nothing fancy.

 The arm bands are quite large and have a Velcro strip that makes them adjustable.  They easily fit over my biceps in a fleece shirt, with room to spare, so I have no doubt they will work over a winter coat with some adjustment.  They are a full yellow band with plenty of flex to them, a plastic feel and look that stands up to moisture easily.

 The vest is not a full jacket style vest, but more of an x-shaped vest that covers shoulders, chest and back, and then the waist.

 It is made of a fine mesh, which makes it breathable and lightweight.  There are a few gray reflective panels on the chest, back and shoulder fronts and backs, but otherwise this is mostly yellow.

 The vest slips over the head and fastens at the waist, opening on either side with adjustable Velcro strips.  It is not a full length vest, but more of a short, above the waist type deal.

 The main gray panel in the front sits just above a large mesh zippered pocket that could be used for holding a phone or keys, though I wouldn't think I would want either of those in such a position banging against me constantly for running.  Since the vest is not a full abdomen length vest, the pocket sat right a stomach height for me.

 When the vest is on, it fit me securely, but I had plenty of wiggle room in my fleece jacket and extra room to adjust on either side as I had the Velcro secured as close as I could.

Once worn for my daily use, I did note that the vest tended to ride up with my arm and upper body movements, and I had to keep tugging it down as it tended to hang up on my coat or shirt.  It is OK, but more bulk than I imagine a runner would want.  For walking or hiking visibility, I would imagine it would suit someone just fine.

Reflective Running Belt with Reflective Arm Bands Review

High visibility is important when exercising outside. A secure place to put valuables such as keys and a phone or MP3 player is also important to me.  So, this combo I just purchased is a perfect pairing of visibility and function.

This reflective running belt and arm bands are well constructed, bright, reflective and functional.

The arm bands Velcro with a wide, strong patch to make a loop for wearing around one's arm.

They are plenty big enough to go over heavier clothes.

The belt appears to have a small compartment, however, this is not the case.

Once unzipped, the belt opens up to create quite a large capacity pocket that will easily hold a phone, keys and more!

The pocket zips open along a secure, well constructed zipper that does not grab other materials or snag up.  Along one side of the pocket is a reflective loop for holding keys or whatever else you want to clip to it.

The belt itself is very flexible, made of a soft material that is smooth and soft against skin.  The buckle is plenty large to clip the belt closed, easy to manipulate without being seen, such as when the belt is buckled behind the back.

The belt is comfortable to wear, stays put when active and offers a great solution for holding important items.

Folding Step Stool Review

With little ones in the house, I am constantly in need of a step stool for someone to reach something, and sometimes I need one for myself as well.  While we have those little steps for the bathroom for potty training, they take up space and don't store well, and don't provide much reach either as they are short.  I was interested in finding a good quality folding step stool to keep on hand.

This step stool from Home It fits the bill perfectly.  It provides 13 inches of reach, is made of a strong black plastic and easily folds away for storage..

 When folded up, this step is quite narrow and can easily tuck into little narrow spaces, a cupboard, or alongside a wall.  The handy little handle makes it able to hang on a hook as well for storage.

 The of the step has white dots all over it, which help provide some traction while using the step.  It is very lightweight due to the built in holes, but it still can hold up to 300 pounds easily.

 Using the step is as easy as pressing the handle down to unfold the step.  No latches or further steps.  Simply unfold and step on.  This step is quite sturdy and built of a strong plastic.  The top sits flat and does not sag or buckle under weight.

 The bottoms of the step have little rubber feet to keep it from slipping, providing even more safety and security.

 I am very pleased with this step.  My children can easily operate it on their own and it allows them to reach what they need without needing me to lift them.  Bathroom and kitchen sinks are now accessible to them.  I have found plenty of opportunity to use this step when accessing upper cupboards and cleaning above my head level.  It is compact, lightweight and attractive while sturdy, durable and strong.  Exactly what I needed!
