Anxiety and Stress Relief Essential Oil Review

My newest essential oil acquisition comes from Phytopia.  This brand seems premium from the moment I opened the box.  Inside, I found a black suede bag tied with silver ribbon.
Within the bag, I found the oil bottle sealed in a shrink wrapped plastic to prevent leaks and secure the bottle.  Once that seal was removed, I could access the goodness within the brown glass bottle.
The bottle has a dropper style insert for easier, cleaner and more controlled distribution of the oil.
The oil is clear and thin, as I would have expected.
Within this bottle of "Tranquility" is a stress and anxiety relieving blend containing the following:
- Organic Carrier Oils (Olive Virgin, Sunflower, Evening Primrose, Jojoba)
- Organic Essential Oils (Orange Sweet, Geranium China, Vanilla, Rose Maroc)

This 50 ml bottle of oil is already mixed with carrier oils and ready to be used on skin,  It is not an oil meant for diffusers.  To use, simply apply on skin and massage around the shoulder and neck.  It is not for internal use or for children.  It has a 36 month shelf life when stored in a cool and dry place.

Each bottle has a manufacture date printed on it so the user can be sure of shelf life.

I really enjoy the smell of this oil.  It has a vanilla overtone with orange coming in second and the geranium and rose filling in slightly.  It is very pleasant, light and soothing.  I am truly loving this oil.  While I know it is not going to last as long since it is already diluted (and I don't know the ratios), I love that I do not have to do the work and that a little goes a long way.  I have no doubt this bottle will last me quite a long time.

Essential Oils Guide Book Review

Ultimate Essential Oils Guide
by Alexa Moore

I have used essential oils for many months now, but have a lot to learn yet, so I am always eager to check out books that help me gain knowledge about these oils as well as recipes for making my own blends.  Alexa Moore has written such a book, geared directly toward beginners.  This is an e-book currently.

Moore has clearly spent some time in writing this book.  It is filled with recipes which break down the oils and ingredients needed, the instructions for mixing and the desired results it should produces or ailments it will address.  Unfortunately, many of them require oils I have not yet heard of or had opportunity to obtain, which makes me think it may not be such a good book for true beginners.  Nonetheless, they are very thorough and easily followed.

The book starts out with a break down of aromatherapy and talks about why oils can be helpful.  It also addresses how and why to use essential oils.  This information was helpful and easily followed.

Some unfortunate things that took away from the positives of the book for me:
-  I found many spelling or grammar errors that were distracting to me and made the book less authoritative for me.
- In addition, I also dislike that the final pages of the book link to oils sold on Amazon, but the links did not work.
- Also, I noted that the author either sells or has a strong affinity to Doterra Oils, as the company name showed up in the book.  As a beginner, I don't want to be sold on the different companies or drawn into multi-level marketing, I just want the basics, the hows and whys.

Sadly, I can't say this was one of my favorite essential oil books so far.  It was OK, but just that.

Clove Oil Review

I have just added a new oil to my collection - Clove Oil.  This oil is great for oral and cardiovascular health.  It has antioxidant properties and helps to support a healthy immune system.  It also totes emotional benefits of empowerment and encouragement.

This oil, from First Botany, comes well packaged and protected. A larger box contains a smaller box, labeled with the product and the expiration date.
This box then contains the bubble wrapped bottle and rubber topped glass dropper.
The large 4 ounce bottle in amber glass has a plastic sealed lid.
The oil inside is 100% pure therapeutic grade Clove Oil.  It is a clear liquid with a warm, clove scent that is very pleasant but potent.  A little goes a long way.  This particular oil is made from the Clove Leaf.  A little research has taught me that it can also be obtained from the Clove Bud.  Because I have not ever used Clove Oil before, I cannot compare this product to others or determine if it is stronger or weaker. I can only speak to this particular oil.
I have diffused this oil and enjoyed the warm, invigorating mist that fills the room.  I looked forward to the oral health uses, but the bottle says it is for external use only, which has deterred me from trying it for such purposes.  It seems like, since this oil is supposed to be so great for oral care, that it would be labeled as safe for internal use.  So, I am going to refrain from using this bottle for anything other than diluted such as a diffuser or in cleaning products, perhaps in a roller ball for skin,

Eucalyptus Oil Review

I have just recently expanded my essential oil collection, adding in Eucalyptus oil.
The bottle I purchased, sold by Up Nature, comes in a large 4oz bottle. I was pleased with the scent right away, this stuff is the real deal and takes very few drops to get the desired effect.
It is a 100% pure therapeutic oil, it is steam distilled and comes out of the bottle clear.  Packaged in an a 4oz amber glass bottle with a class stemmed, rubber tipped dropper, there is plenty in this bottle to last a long time. Unfortunately, my dropper was shattered when I received it, which was odd since it was bubble wrapped and shipped with the oil in a small cardboard box for extra protection.  However, the excellent customer service of Up Nature will be sending a replacement free of charge, no questions asked.
There are many uses for Eucalyptus Oil.  To name a few:
- Mood Enhancing
- Refreshing
- Energizing
- Cooling
- Germicidal, kills household germs
- Antiseptic
- Antifungal - Great for the common cold, coughs, sinus issues, clearing mucus
- Helpful for migraines and fevers
- Natural deodorizer

This oil comes with a 100% satisfaction guarantee with a full refund attached for 365 days should the product be in any way unsatisfactory, so you can't really go wrong with this oil or this seller!

2PM Essentials Frosted Cobalt Blue Roller Bottles Review

My new essential oil hobby is slowly gathering steam as I add more products to my collection.  The latest addition is some new roller ball bottles for application purposes.  As I am still learning, I am adding things a little at a time.  I opted to try these roller bottles first.
Available in packs of 2, 6 or 20, I ordered a 2 pack to start out.  The bottles came in a cardboard wrapper within a bubble envelope.
Inside the box, the bottles were packaged in a zipper bag.
The roller ball caps are packaged separately from the bottles and tops.
The bottles require a little assembly once the oil has been put into the bottle.
These cobalt blue bottles are a very dark blue, almost purple.  The bottles are solid blue glass, not painted glass.  They are heavy duty and thick.
The roller balls are made of stainless steel and tucked into a plastic cup.
Once the bottle has been filled with oil and a carrier, the roller ball cap simply pops into the neck of the bottle.  I did not find the fit to be very tight, as i could easily pull it back out again without any extra force or need for tools, just a little wiggling.  This didn't seem very secure to me, but so far they have not fallen out with use.  However, I am cautious and aware when using them because I do know how easily the cap can be removed.
The bottle cap itself is made of plastic and painted to look like brushed aluminum.  These feel cheap and mine already have little scratches that reveal the white plastic underneath . They still perform the duty of capping the bottle, but they are not going to be pretty for long with regular use.

The bottles come with notification that the roller ball will need some priming to get to to roll freely, and even includes tips to make it happen if the oils do so enough for one's liking.  I found them to work just fine after I spent some time priming them.

Overall, these bottles do the job, but for the price I paid for two (over $8), I feel like the quality should be better with the roller ball seal and the bottle lid.  They work fine, but not fantastic.

Coconut Oil Review

In my quest to use more naturally occurring oils and supplements for my home, health and family, I have read many things about using coconut oil.  Interested in stepping forward in my venture, I found this Pure Coconut Oil
In a large 16oz bottle, this oil is 100% pure, in liquid form - no color or odor
In the past I have used olive oil as a carrier for my essential oils, but I have found that this oil works wonderfully for this purpose.  It absorbs very quickly and is not at all greasy.  Because it is clear, there is no staining that can happen with some oils.  If it gets on clothes, it washes out with no trouble.  It does not clog pores either, making it a wonderful oil for so many uses!

In addition to using it for a carrier oil, Coconut Oil has many other uses:
- Massage
- Hair and skin treatments
- Homemade soaps, body scrubs, lotions, ointments
- Aromatherapy

The really cool thing is that this oil has a long shelf life as long as it is stored in a cool place, out of direct sunlight. It comes in a dark, amber colored plastic bottle to help keep the product protected. The included pump makes dispensing so much easier than other pour top bottles, as I can use it to put the oil directly into a bottle without dripping or waste.

The seller of this oil, Pure Body Naturals, has a 100% lifetime money back guarantee on this product.  If it does not work for you, a simple e-mail will get you a full refund, and you don't even have to return the bottle.  With a guarantee like that, you can't go wrong giving this a try!

Lavendar and Peppermint Essential Oil Review

I am fairly new in the world of essential oils, but quickly falling in love with having them in my home.  My arsenal is quite small yet, consisting of Tea Tree Oil, Coconut Oil, and now Peppermint and Lavendar oils.

These oils, sold by InstaNatural, come in large 4oz brown glass bottles with a glass pipette.  The aromas are pure and high quality.

From the seller:
About Peppermint Oil:
Peppermint Essential Oil is a multi-purpose oil that cools, energizes and refreshes the body and mind. This steam-distilled oil is extracted from dried or fresh leaves from the Mentha Piperita herb, giving it a sharp, menthol fragrance. Its pleasantly sweet and minty aroma makes it a premium choice for aromatherapy to improve the mind and lift the spirits.

Ingredient: 100% Pure Steam-Distilled Peppermint Essential Oil (Mentha Piperita)

About Lavender Essential Oil:
Lavender Essential Oil is a steam-distilled oil that relaxes and rejuvenates the body and mind with a fresh floral aroma. This essential oil is extracted from the oil glands of the Lavandula Officinalis plant, which gives the oil its sweet herbaceous fragrance. Our Lavender Essential Oil’s clean and serene aroma makes it a perfect companion for aromatherapy to help ease the mind.

Ingredient: 100% Pure Steam-Distilled Lavender Essential Oil (Lavandula Officinalis)
These oils are a welcome addition to my home.  I have used the Lavendar Oil for a bedtime foot rub to encourage sleep.  The Peppermint Oil has come in handy with cold season, and I have used it in rubs, aromatherapy and bath bombs in addition to cleaners, combined with Tea Tree Oil.

I am very pleased with these oils and very highly recommend them!
