Furbliss Multi-functional Grooming Brush

With a dog, two cats and a rabbit living in my house, there is plenty of fur to be groomed around here.  We own several different types of sturdy brushes with handles and teeth, but none that are soft and flexible, which would sometimes be more convenient.  Enter the Furbliss Multi-functional Grooming Brush

This brush is made from 100% silicone that is very soft and flexible.  It can bend, twist and flex with ease. As a multi-functional brush, it serves many purposes:
- Brushing and deshedding
- Massaging and soothing
- Bathing (wet or dry)
The back of the brush can be used to help loosen fur as well as remove loose furn from clothes and furniture.  Many grooves in the center of the brush act as shampoo reservoir cells for use when bathing.
The yellow brush is designed for medium to large breeds.  It is a good size to fit in your hand and is comfortable to hold and use.
The de-shedding teeth are triangular shaped with rounded tips and are spaced closely together for more teeth contact.
The back of the brush has many different grooves and raised edges to help with scrubbing and massaging.  It also is a low profile, so it works nicely for wiping along furniture to help grab the loose fur.
Unfortunately, right now the shedding level in my house is low, but I anticipate this being a really handy tool in a month or so when the animals all start to ditch that winter coat.  However, in just a few short passes, it did grab loose fur off of my cat, and this was with very little effort on my part.  The silicone acts like a fur magnet, almost like it attracts the fur through static or something.
I look forward to really putting this to work when the fur starts to fly, literally!

Our K9 Bark Collar Review

I have been toying with the idea of getting a bark collar for my dog for a while now.  I had been advised to look into a shock collar, but with my dog being 4.5 pounds, I didn't like the idea of shocking such a small, thin skinned animal.  When I came across the opportunity to obtain a shock free collar, I was immediately interested.
The Our K9 Bark Collar comes in a handy storage case and instructions are emailed as well as included for correct use.  Purchasers receive multiple email messages with very explicit video instructions on use of the product.
The case comes with 2 batteries, a collar and the bark control.
This set is made for tiny dogs.  The collar was much too large for my dog, but is made with many tiny breeds in mind.  Video instructions clearly show you how to assemble and trim the collar to prevent fraying.  I easily put it together in minutes.
Users are directed to allow and adjustment period of 24-48 hours for the dog to get used to wearing the collar before installing the battery and introducing bark correction.  When the battery installation stage comes, it is easily done by removing the collar and sliding the strap aside to access the battery door.
The back of the bark control has two prongs that sit on either side of the dog's windpipe.  There is also a small air sensor that triggers the collar when the dog barks by sensing air movement.
The control itself is small and comfortable fits on the dog's neck.  It is a bit bigger than I anticipated for a tiny dog like mine, but she still has room on her neck for her regular collar as well, so it's not too much of a hindrance.
Once assembled and the adjustment period has passed, the collar is placed on with the battery in place and training begins.  There are 8 levels of correction with this collar before it resets.  The dog gets a free bark before the collar starts to offer correction, beginning with a beep at bark two, a longer beep at bark three, the beep with a short vibration at bark four and then increasing in length of beep and vibration until bark 8.  Then it shuts down for 1 minute to allow the dog a break.
My dog was intimidated by the collar itself, with out any battery or correction.  She spent the first 24 hours barely moving when it was on, and still cowers some when called and is less active if she is wearing it.  The collar definitely needs to be on tight.  I was surprised how tight.  My brain tells me 2 fingers is safe for mobility, but with this collar 1 finger is all that should fit.  I had to re-adjust a few times, but I could tell that it was not tight enough during the adjustment phase because it would move is she scratched, even when I thought it was already tight.

Usually by step three, my dog has ceased barking because if the beeps don't get her attention the vibration surely does.  I have been using this complete with battery for about 4 days now and notice a marked difference when she wears the collar vs. when she doesn't.  Things like the doorbell, visitors, people walking by, etc. would set her off before, now she is hesitant to bark or only does once or twice instead of incessantly if she is wearing the collar.

As directed, each time she barks and the collar corrects, I issue her a command to be quiet.  I am hopeful that with a few weeks of this repeated behavior she will be able to go collar free and understand my command in place of the collar correction.

I am very pleased with how gentle and effective this collar is.  There is no pain or discomfort beyond sound and a vibration (which I tested on myself and found it little more than a tickle).  It is doing amazing things for my yapping Yorkie and I am one happy customer.

Collapsible Travel Dog Bowls Review

Traveling with a pet means more gear to pack. Any time I can find a way to condense and save on space, I am interested. So, when I saw these collapsible pet food bowls I knew I needed them.
In red and blue, these bowls can adjust to two depths just by unfolding them a little or all the way.
They are more than sufficient for holding food and water for a small dog like mine (a yorkie).
I can fit a day's worth of food in one bowl, use the other for water, and travel knowing I don't have to either find something suitable at my destination or hope what I brought doesn't get broken on the way.

Made of silicon, these are much better than the lined fabric versions I own that eventually leak water and fold upon themselves, making eating or drinking a pain. I love that they also have caribibers attached, which makes them great for hooking to a bag or pocket for walks/hikes or day outings.
I just love these bowls. Definitely not for larger dogs, except for a quick drink maybe, they are great for the toy and small breeds though.

Pet Stain and Odor Remover Review

A new dog in the house often means accidents and the inevitable stain or smell that comes with having and accident.  I have tried many products over the years to remove the odors from pet accidents, and more often than not, have been disappointed.

Trinova has an enzyme based cleaner available that I recently put to work in my home.
It comes packaged in a plastic bag, with sprayer disconnected for protection during shipping and to prevent leaks.
There is also a foil seal in place under the screw-on cap.  When those are removed, you will find a slightly soapy appearing liquid of a slight yellow hue within the bottle.  The smell is pleasant as well.
The sprayer simply screws onto the neck of the bottle and you are ready to go after those messes, stains and odors!
I had opportunity to try out this spray on urine, vomit and feces and was happy with the results each time.  I was first and foremost thrilled with the smell.  I find the harsh chemical smell off-putting as well as feel unsafe using products with such smells around my family and pets.  This has a pleasant smell, somewhat natural in scent, but not perfumey or chemical.  After dry, the smell is gone, which I also love.

I followed the normal procedure of removing anything off the carpet/floor first and then blotting with a clean white towel to absorb as much liquid as I could.  I then sprayed on the stain remover, scrubbed it in a little with my fingers and walked away.  When I returned later, the spot was gone, the smell from the accident and the cleaner was gone, and all that was left was a clean spot.  Of course, I used this on only fresh spots so far, so I can only speak to the spot removing ability in that situation, but feel comfortable in believing it would do good on any stains that have set in, probably with a couple of repeat applications.

This will definitely stay in my cleaning supply arsenal!

Indestructible Rubber Dog Ball Review

Our dog is still very much young and spunky, and full of chew, rip, tear and destroy.  Though she is over a year old now, there is only one toy I have found that she has not yet destroyed.  Until now.

The Snug Rubber Dog Balls are about tennis ball sized.  Super bouncy and tough, they are built to stand up to chewing and dog destruction, labeled as virtually indestructible.
Sold as a set of three, they are brightly colored and fun.  These balls are a decent size, and have some weight to them.
We have a small Yorkie, so these balls are admittedly a bit bigger than she needs, but it has not stopped her in the past.  Anything she can get a tooth into, no matter how big or small, is fair game.  She has chewed apart many tennis balls in her short time, so the tennis ball form is no challenge to her.

From the moment we opened these balls, I had a house full of entertained individuals, animal and human alike.  Our dog was instantly interested and ready to pounce on the ball.  She chased it all over the house and would fetch it for more fun.
So far, a week into owning these balls, she has yet to find a way to chew into one.  I cannot speak to how these balls would stand up to a larger dog, but I am one happy pet owner.

Snug Cat Litter Mat Review

Two cats in the house + three litter boxes for them to share = lots of tracked litter around the basement.

One of the big annoyances in my home is this tracked litter in the basement.  Despite my constant vacuuming and rugs placed in front of the litter boxes, I am endlessly cleaning up the cat litter. Now, that battle has gotten a lot easier.  Enter the Snug Cat Litter Mat...
This thing is big!  plenty big to fit my litter box in the center with room all the way around to track litter as the cat steps out.
Backed with a smooth rubber to keep it from slipping, it stays where it belongs.  The front is a woven rubber/plastic material with loops to snag the litter pieces and trap them in place.
Now what was a constant mess around the litter box...
Is contained, and this cat owner can relax a little.
Easy to clean up, any litter tracked onto this mat can be easily shaken off, swept or vacuumed.  Yet, it grabs the pieces to keep them from spreading.  A soft texture that is soothing to my hands, it is comfortable for cats to walk on.  No obnoxious odor or plastic smell, it comes out of the package ready to go to work.

Carpet Stain Remover Review

A dog in the house often means accidents and the inevitable stain or smell that comes with having and accident.  I have tried many products over the years to remove the odors from pet accidents, and more often than not, have been disappointed.

Carpet AfterLife has an enzyme based commercial strength cleaner available that I recently put to work in my home.

This product claims to:

  •  remove all types of pet stains, not just urine stains
  •  stop pets revisiting the same spot
  •  have a fresh clean fragrance, so no harsh chemical smell
  •  have earned the seal of approval from the Carpet and Rug Institute as being safe to use on your carpets

I had opportunity to try out this spray on urine, vomit and feces and am happy with the results each time.

Best For My Pets Bully Sticks Review

We've had our puppy about 5 months now, and are loving having her as a part of our family.  Much different than our previous dog, this dog is young and loves to chew.  So many toys, articles of clothing and more have been destroyed by her so far.  So, I was interested in finding a safe, appropriate outlet for her to release her chewing needs.  When I came across the chance to try these Bully Sticks, I went for it.
These sticks should have no odor to them.  When I opened up the bag, there was a very slight odor, but nothing off-putting and I was unsure whether this was actually from the sticks themselves for from being packaged.  After being chewed on for a bit, the moisture created a stronger odor.  Again, nothing that would be much different than other chews or treats, but detectable and not a smell I would want getting absorbed into my furniture over any length of time.
Made of all natural, 100% pure beef, I feel good giving here these sticks.  They are free of chemicals, preservatives or additives, just meat.  Made from dried muscle, they are 100% digestible, low in fat, a great source of protein, and free of gluten and grains.  Still, they are hard like bones, so there is longevity to this treat.  Even better, they are hard to break into tiny pieces that could be choked upon.
My dog loves these Bully Sticks, and they keep her entertained for quite some time.  She seems to like the taste and definitely enjoys chewing them.  I love them because she is safely entertained with a healthy treat and there is no mess for me to clean up later, as some rawhide and other chew treats have.  I like that these sticks do more than just entertain my dog.  While she chews, they work at cleaning her teeth and keeping them strong.
A 30 day, no questions asked, money back guarantee comes with these sticks, so I felt confident in trying them risk-free.

Deluxe Dog Grooming Brush

We recently got a new dog, and with that dog came the need for supplies like toys, feeding and grooming needs.  A longer haired dog, I wanted to find a brush that would do a good job of managing tangles without damaging hair or causing pain.  The opportunity to use the Deluxe Dog Grooming Brush arose and I took it.
I was instantly happy with the craftsmanship of this brush.  The brush head and handle are wood
and the bristles are of a sturdy metal embedded in a cushy flexible rubber base
so there is flex and cushion while brushing.  Bristles will not easily bend as plastic bristles can.
One thing I disliked immediately was the lack of protection on the ends of each bristle, so they are sharp and scratchy, unlike other brushes with capped bristle tips.
I tried this brush out on my yorkie, but found I was not very comfortable using it on her as she is quite small and the bristles seemed so long.  The brush is definitely overkill for such a small dog, and a much smaller brush head and shorter bristles would be better for her.  However, I did not yet give up as I also have a cat in the house.  While his hair is also short, he definitely sheds much more and needs to be brushed a lot more often than the dog.  The cat really seemed to enjoy being brushed with this brush, even with tips un-capped.  I was quite happy to see how much hair it pulled out after just a few passes
Brush dimensions:
  • Brush is 7" x 4" at its widest.
  • Metal bristles are 7/8".
When you buy this brush, you get a 100% satisfaction guarantee, no hassle or questions.  The sellers, CLD Brands, are fully invested in their product and take full ownership and responsibility for the quality of their products and seek to solve problems quickly and efficiently.
